2007 March - The premiere of Zack Snyder's film "300" was held on 5th March at Grauman's Chinese Theater in LA (click on thumbnails on the left to see larger images of photos taken at the opening). We wished Andy a very hearty "BREAK A LEG!!" on the night as US audiences got their first chance to see him portray Ephialtes in this absolutely ground-breaking work which will no doubt prove to be a brilliant milestone in his career. Already the reviews of his performance are outstanding. (Click here for a review from the 300 page.)

2006 May - Andy travels to Manchester to film an episode of the ITV production "Cold Blood".

2006 February - The filming for Frank Miller's "300" - directed by Zack Snyder - has been been completed and it is now in post-production. Although Mr. Tiernan found the long days spent in the full-body prosthetics needed for his role as Ephialtes a bit uncomfortable (...think about it...) he has this to say about the film:

"300 is all done and dusted now...it looks amazing, like a Caravaggio painting, a living embodiment of the graphic novel!"

Well we may have to wait until 2007 to see it but it sounds like the wait will be tuly worth it! Bring it on!

2006 January - Life On Mars screens in the UK. This intriguing series differs from the usual police drama because it lands the lead character - modern-day cop DI Sam Tyler (John Simm) - mysteriously back in time in the 1970's. Andy plays bad guy Kim Trent and receives excellent reviews.

2005 December - Mr. Tiernan completes filming on "The Man Who Sold The World" directed by Louis Melville. He plays an "evil priest" named Reverend Carmichael.

2005 November - The BBC 4 production of "Waste of Shame " is aired in the UK. Andrew Tiernan plays the character of Ben Jonson in this serious version of "Shakespeare In Love" who, in his words, is "the geezer who gets ol' Shaky pxxxxd and finally pushes him over the edge!" The role of Shakespeare is by Rupert Graves.

2005 Sept/Oct - Productions which have recently been completed featuring Mr. Tiernan are: "Whose Baby", "Murphy's Law", "Rotter's Club" and "Life On Mars". More information about them will be available soon.

2005 September - Andrew Tiernan plays Forster a terrorist involved in a group called "Shining Dawn" in a special two-part episode of British drama "Spooks". This is the first episode in Series Four of the show and was directed by Antonia Bird whom he has worked with on her previous productions "Safe" and "Rehab". The storyline focuses on the uncannily topical subject of bombings on the London Underground and there was some controversy as to whether the program should be shown so close to the actual occurrence of these events in real life but they were actually screened in the UK on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th September.

2005 August/September - Andy flew to LA to be fitted for the prosthetics for his role as "Ephialtes" in the film "300" written by Frank Miller. This big budget Warner Bros. production is being shot in Vancouver and will be directed by Zack Snyder who also directed "Dawn Of The Dead". The story centres on the Battle Of Thermopylae in 480 BC when Leonidas the King of Sparta and his Royal Guard of 300 were overwhelmingly outnumbered by their enemies the Persians. This battle inspired all of Greece to band together thus forming the first democracy. It also stars Gerard Butler (the Phantom from "Phantom Of The Opera") as King Leonidas. It is due to be released in 2007.

2005 August - "Snuff-Movie" was shown at the Edinburgh Film Festival on August 27th. Andrew plays the character of Bruce in this latest offering from Bernard Rose director of the acclaimed "Candyman".
