Radio Reviews - "The Bayeux Tapestry"

  Bayeux Tapestry

Storyline

Authors Simon Armitage and Jeff Young use a combination of verse and prose to bring to life the events depicted on The Bayeux Tapestry. The actual tapestry now hangs in the Bayeux Museum. It is 230 feet long and approximately 20 inches high and shows The Battle of Hastings from the Norman perspective. This BBC Radio 4 production, directed by Kate Rowland, chronicles the history surrounding the famous battle in 1066 and the ascension of Duke William of Normandy to the English throne.
